People living in San Jose homes are fortunate to have a great cultural resource so close to them. MACLA (Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana) is dedicated to bringing contemporary Latino art to the greater community and fostering connection and building cross-cultural understanding. The gallery, located on downtown San Jose real estate, has a rotating schedule of work. Right now, there is a selection of the work of the most cutting-edge artists as part of the 18th annual Latino Arts Now! Exhibit and Auction. The auction will be held Saturday, May 14th at 6 p.m. There will be great food and beverages, as well as live entertainment, and of course, bidding on the art.
Downtown San Jose Real Estate Celebrates the Arts on First Fridays
MACLA also participates in South First Fridays, when downtown San Jose stays open late, and everyone from San Jose homes comes out to enjoy the galleries and museums, as well as independent art venues. This coming Friday, May 6th, one of the featured performers will be Tarimba, a Bay Area collective of musicians playing in the Son Jarocho tradition.
Visit the MACLA gallery Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 7 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Appointments can be made for other times. Admission is free.
