Santa Claus is coming to town, but sometimes he needs a little help, and when that happens, the United States Marines Corp steps up for the big man in the red suit. On a mission to provide needy children living in the San Jose real estate area with as many Christmas presents as possible, the Marines are asking residents of San Jose homes to help and become a part of Santa’s workshop. The annual “Stuff the Bus” Super Saturday Toys for Tots event will be held at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez, as part of the Christmas in the Park celebration. Come out on December 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and help fill an entire Valley Transportation Authority Bus with toys. Simply bring an unwrapped, new teddy bear, football, doll, game or another fun gift to the bus and join in the Christmas spirit of giving.
In 2014, well over three thousand toys were donated, which stuffed two whole buses! The Marines are hopeful that this year will bring as many or more goodies to little ones whose families are struggling. If you can’t make it on Super Saturday, there is a centrally located kiosk in Christmas in the Park so drop offs can be made any time. Be part of the few, the proud, the Marines and donate a toy today. Visit Christmas in the Park to get more details.
