Japantown is a unique area available to San Jose home owners to enjoy and explore. Those who live here are very lucky because this is one of the three authentic Japantowns to remain in the United States. There are many things to enjoy about Japantown, including delicious food, small shops to browse in, beautiful architecture, and the ability to learn about another culture without having to cross an ocean. There are also great events held in this area throughout the year. A local favorite is the Japantown Certified Farmers Market held on every Sunday from 8:30 am until noon.
Those who call San Jose home are also invited to come celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Japantown. Two concerts will be held in honor of this milestone. Come to see Chidori Band, San Jose Taiko, and Shirley Muramoto on August 15th at 7:00 pm at the Buddhist Church Annex Building. Another opportunity comes September 12th to hear Wesley Jazz Band, Wesley Ukelele Band, and halau NaWai Ola. San Jose real estate owners and all guests are invited to Wesley United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at 7 pm for this show. Tickets are available at the Japantown Farmers Market, Biscuits, Headliners, and Kogura Company. Visit Japantown San Jose for more information on Japantown and the 125th Anniversary celebration.
