Walkers from Santa Clara Homes Raise Funds at JDRF One Walk
Type 1 diabetes can be a devastating illness. The pancreas stops producing insulin, and the body cannot process sugars. Insulin levels must be carefully monitored. People with T1 diabetes also have to follow a special diet. The disease strikes children and adults and is not caused by poor lifestyle choices. At the moment, there isn’t a cure. However, events like the JDRF One Walk raise funds for research so that a cure can be found.
The day of the walk promises to be lots of fun. Walkers will be provided with a healthy breakfast. Teams can snap photos together. Kids can get involved in fun activities, and adults can browse diabetes-friendly vendors.
Santa Clara real estate owners should check out the JDRF One Walk website to register and get all the details.
