Scientists in training from Santa Clara homes get hands on experience during Youth Physics, Science and Math Days on May 12th and 19th. Held at California Great America, presentations, interactions, and demonstrations delving into the world of science await.
Activities are planned from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. highlighting the significant role science and math play in creating the magical movements of theme park design. Participants living in Santa Clara homes will obtain a deeper understanding of physics as a whole. When the day is over, most will view the thrill rides on this piece of Santa Clara real estate with new eyes.
Youth Physics, Science and Math days call out to competitive spirits. Contests are popular and challenging. Four categories test the brain power of youth in attendance. Sail worthy crews see whose boat stays afloat in the Cardboard Boat Races. Gravity is key in the Model Roller Coaster Contest. Teams are divided by grade levels and called to design a thrilling ride. The Paper Tower and Mars Lander contests also stimulate minds and inspire great thinking in engineering.

Admission to the event is $30. California Great America annual passholders can purchase a Season passholder lab fee for $14. Meal options include picnic style dining. Offered from 12 to 2 p.m. in the Country Fair Picnic Grove hungry science buffs can chow down. Grub served up includes beef hot dogs, BBQ baked beans, salad, soft drinks and dessert.
